Programs and Services:

  • Volunteer Connection
    Recruits, interviews, and refers volunteers from throughout Stanislaus County to not-for-profit agencies, organizations, and schools. This service matches the skills, interests and talents of individual volunteers or groups with the needs of community organizations. The Center also compiles and
    submits a "Lend A Hand" column focusing on the needs of not-for-profit agencies. This column is published monthly or bi-monthly in area newspapers, business newsletters, and cable access television..

  • Stanislaus County Volunteer Services
    Recruits, interviews, and refers interested individuals to volunteer opportunities in the County of Stanislaus government departments. The Center also coordinates large-scale volunteer opportunities for County departments (i.e., The Four-Footed Fun Fair – promoting responsible pet ownership). Stanislaus County volunteers are recognized at special ceremonies during National Volunteer Week in April. In addition, this program also recruits and refers Stanislaus County employees to community organizations and coordinates the Stanislaus County Employee Mentors Program (SCEMP). Through SCEMP, employees are offered flextime to mentor youth. Employee volunteer mentors are honored at a Mentor Celebration during National Mentoring Month in January.

  • Mentor Network of Stanislaus County
    A partnership of approximately twenty organizations that provide mentoring services from all segments of the community. Together the group promotes mentoring, provides trainings and activities, and recruits volunteer mentors to make a difference in someone’s life.

  • VolunTEEN Program
    Educates high school students about not-for-profit agencies, the personal benefits of volunteer work, and offers assistance with matching students to volunteer jobs.

  • Prudential Youth Leadership Institute
    A state-of-the-art training program designed to teach leadership and community service skills to high school-age students. This national program, available in over 40 states, was created by the Prudential Insurance Company of America, in partnership with Youth Service America, and the Center for Creative Leadership and is administered by the Points of Light Foundation.

  • Mentor Recognition
    An annual celebration during National Mentoring Month in January recognizing the positive relationships of the County of Stanislaus employees who volunteer to make a difference in the lives of children in our community.
