• Volunteer Information and Referral (I&R) Services
  The Center connects community residents to more than 1,050 registered public benefit organizations and programs.

• Volunteer Emergency Information and Referral (EI&R) Services
  The Center registers and processes all spontaneous unaffiliated county volunteers during response and recovery operations to any type of human made and natural emergency situation. Specifically, the Center facilitates county planning and operations, Citizen Emergency Response Training (CERT) and the development of the county-wide Health Registry.

• Youth Volunteer Services
  The Center connects youth and youth groups to volunteer opportunities to assist high school mandated/recommended community service graduation requirements through: a Youth Volunteer and Community Servic (YST) Program; a one year volunteer leadership curriculum offered to future leaders (one student from each of the county’s high schools); the CAMINOS community service rehabilitative program for at risk students, and: a local Mentoring Program for the High and Junior High School population, through the Governor’s Office of Service Americorps Ambassador Mentoring Program.

• Retired Senior Volunteer Program Services
  The Center sponsors the Northern Santa Clara County Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).

• California Citizens with Disabilities VISTA Volunteer Program
  The Center sponsors the Santa Clara County component of the Citizens with Disabilities VISTA Program which seeks to offer volunteer position skill set development as a first step to workforce entry/reentry.

• Corporate Volunteer Services
  The Center provides employee volunteer management consulting services for corporations and businesses to manage their internal employee volunteerism programs and assist with their external community investment strategies.

• Training Courses, Networking Activity and Community Resource Product
  The Center offers volunteer management and emergency training courses, supports multiple community volunteer networks.

• Human Race Sponsorship Program
  The Center sponsors this community volunteer promotion and fundraising event, in its 11th year (1992), which annually raises approximately $250,000 for an average of 100 local 501(c) (3) organizations and programs. This countywide event gives all public benefit organizations and schools an opportunity to raise funds for their programs and services.

  The Center sponsors a series of volunteer recognition events throughout the year with other public benefit organizations, government entities and businesses.

Other Information: Established as The Volunteer Exchange of Santa Clara County in 1987, the organization was re-branded the Volunteer Center of Silicon Valley, Inc. in November, 2001.
