Programs and Services:

  • Nonprofit Resource Center
    Comprehensive training and educational resource for nonprofit agencies. Resource library with comprehensive collection of funding directories, CD-ROM resources, and reference materials--includes computerized customized funding searches, internet access and listings of nonprofit career opportunities, newsletters, newspapers, videos, directories, and customized research available.

  • Board Connection Program
    A personalized program designed to train management level personnel and provide customized placement on nonprofit boards of directors throughout Orange County.

  • Volunteer and Community Connection Services
    Encourages and promotes volunteer service in Orange County. Refers individuals to more than 1,500 volunteer opportunities in community-based organizations for ongoing and one-time activities. Organizes Volunteer Connection Day and promotes other “Seasons of Service” special volunteer days. Organizes Orange County Cares – a project to meet the needs of episodic volunteers who wish to volunteer periodically.

  • Corporate Services
    Provides assistance and consultation to businesses in the development and enhancement of employee volunteer programs, including project ideas, involvement opportunities, and other resources to facilitate effective community service efforts.

  • Senior Training and Employment Program (STEP)
    Job-training program providing useful, part-time community service for low-income seniors, age 55 and older. Participants are placed in subsidized work assignments to help them develop marketable job skills.

  • Senior Programs
    Places individuals (age 55+) into productive volunteer service. Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), a component of Senior Programs, actively recruits and places senior volunteers and provides them with supplemental accident, liability, and auto insurance, along with partial reimbursement of expenses.

  • Court Referral Program
    Provides judges alternative sentencing options and offers misdemeanor offenders the opportunity to perform community service in lieu of fines or incarceration - Youthful Drug and Alcohol Deterrence Program – for first time youth offenders. CalTrans Beautification Program – utilizing court-ordered individuals to maintain clean highways. Graffiti Removal Program.

  • Youth Connection Program
    Annual Youth Service Conference. Service-learning teacher training.Ongoing support and assistance to educators and nonprofit agencies focused on youth volunteerism, service learning, and school community service programs. Coordinates Youth Leadership Program

  • Youth Connection Conference
    A full-day conference devoted to youth issues surrounding volunteering, community service, and service learning

  • Seasons of Service
    Promotion of eight national and state-recognized days of service, such as Martin Luther King, Jr., Service Day, and Make A Difference Day

  • Spirit of Volunteerism Award Luncheon
    Honors individuals and corporate groups who have been identified by nonprofit and public organizations for outstanding volunteer service to the Orange County community. Giving is Living Award recognizes an individual or couple for their distinguished service and commitment to strengthening volunteerism in Orange County

  • St. Nicholas Day
    A service-learning project, to teach 1st graders about volunteerism and a fund raising project to support the expansion of volunteerism among youth
